No make up nessecary

Halloween time again. Here we are all set to go for a night of fun at Crab Farm Winery in Hawkes Bay.

If you are ever near the area on a Saturday night we highly recommend calling in at Crab Farm to catch one of their legendary Saturday night live sessions. Great setting, delicious wine and local beers and some amazing people that really appreciate the craft of live music.

Thanks to local band Jharmony for their warm welcome and amazing sounds and a big thank you to Crab Farm Winery for looking after us again.....we absolutely love playing here!

See you next time.

Best stage ever!!

Check out this amazing little beach house that was built for us as our stage at this private function in Hawkes Bay.

How cool is this....our very own shack built entirely from local driftwood off the beach!? Our hosts even took the time to build our logo into it.......amazing effort !!

We were truly honoured to be the opening act for the first ever Wana Festival in Auckland.

Constructed with the beautiful vision and message or raising awareness and acceptance of mental illness in our country WANA festival was a huge success. Most of us have had first hand experience of mental illness through ourselves or people we love and it really is time that our society talks openly about anxiety and depression and takes positive steps towards acceptance and support.

Fancis Heke has done an inspiring job setting up this Festival and the love invested in it shined through in all the performances and events of the day. We highly recommend getting along to this event next year.

Rotorua .... Oh how we love you!!

We just had to share some of these moments from our weekend away in Rotorua.

What a weekend!! ..... and what a reception from the patrons of Rotorua's award winning bar Ponsonby Road. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting and hosts Tamati, Tim and all their staff really go out of their way to create a unique space that is friendly and loads of fun.

We really have to thank you all for hosting us and particularly all the locals and visitors that made the night so much fun for us....loads of dancing, singing and laughs and even a surprise trip around Rotorua for our lamp 'Trevor'.

We seriously recommend heading to Eat Street anytime your in Rotorua and call in at Ponsonby Road for a quality cocktail and check out some of the fantastic live music they have on...you won't regret it.

Thanks again everyone....we look forward to seeing you all again November 6th and 7th.

New band wagon!?

Wow...the new Audi Q7's are stunning cars and we would have been happy to take one home after playing the launch of this new car in Auckland.

Thanks Audi for having us along to be a part of your evening ... it was a new experience and a treat to play in this beautiful show room overlooking these fabulous cars.

Get along to Giltrap Audi and have a chat to someone from their friendly sales team about all the features included in these amazing new vehicles.

Masked dancing

Thank You Leigh Community!!!

What a night.....an absolute blast from start to finish! The reception we had at this masquerade ball fundraiser for the Leigh pre-School was just amazing. The dancing, the singing.....even drinks getting poured down our guitarists throat mid song.....too much fun. Every time we play here the locals make us feel incredibly welcome.

And how cool to have a special appearance from Dancing with the Stars team Charlie Billington and his fiancee Georgina Bondfield. Man do they know how to dance!

See you all for the next one.

Thanks to NZ music producer and engineer Malcolm Welsford who always makes us sound so darned good and as always the fantastic staff at The Leigh Sawmill for the warm reception and blimin' good food.

let's propose a toast.....

There has been more than one reason to share a glass of bubbles over the last month.

The call for a toast was made when we started our first residency at a lovely little private club in the city. The security of regular work is a gift that we are very appreciative of and one that we will certainly endeavour to do our best for.

This month has also been the final month for Bonnie at her day job. It's very exciting and inspiring to see our good friend and fellow band member taking the leap into making music a full time career. Exciting times ahead for us all it would seem and we are sure there will be further occasions for a toast in the near future!

Listen to some music

There's been so much on for us through the winter it's actually hard to keep track!

Playing music really is a passion for us and we are ever grateful for the work that has been keeping us busy.

We've been to weddings, a floating pavilion, street parties, wineries, bars and corporate functions. It's a fantastic journey meeting so many interesting people around the country and being a part of the special occasions we are booked for.

Here's little snippet of what we've been up to.....

Pink Floyd takes off

What a truly surreal moment .... playing through Pink Floyd 'Another brick in the Wall'  and just as we crescendo in the song there is a helicopter taking flight right in front of us! It still amazes us some of the interesting settings we get to play music in each week.

Such a pleasure to be supporting the Westpac Rescue Helicopter again. The amount that they do for people in need is amazing. Only 10 minutes after we arrived in the hangar to set up the crew were in the air and on their way to Waiheke to help someone out..

The new series of 'Code One' follows the crew of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter on some of their call outs. We were privileged to see a sneak preview here at the launch and highly recommend you check it out when it screens on TV One on Mondays at 8pm.

Wow!

Wow....what a night.

We were excited to be heading back to play at the Leigh fishing competition for another year in support of the Westpac rescue helicopter. Our expectations of a great night again were met and then promptly exceeded as the Leigh community got into full swing! What a great night of dancing, singing and folks joining us on stage to parade their moves.

All we can say is : Wow Leigh, you know how to party!

Thank you for having us to play again and for truly enjoying your night. Your great spirit helps to raise a lot of funds for a fantastic cause.

Beers and bowls....again!!

How nice it was to be back playing this same corporate job 12 months on from the last time. We are loving the repeat jobs that have been coming in!

Great fun playing out to everyone on the bowling green as they battled their way through the 'world cup' on a truly amazing NZ summer day and it was great to see guests sticking around at the end of the night to enjoy a drink and some tunes with us.

Thanks for having us again....maybe see you next year?!

Endless Summer

The summer months have been non stop for us so far. From weddings to markets, birthdays and breweries - we have been out playing and sharing music every week in some beautiful locations around New Zealand. There has even been some time contracted in the studio writing and recording some original tunes for a new website soon to be released (we can't tell you what it is 'cause it's all hush hush!). We have been constantly reminded of what a beautiful country we live in and feel privileged to be able to meet so many great people through what we do.

There's no sign of an end yet to the wonderful summer weather and with it no sign of the gigs slowing down.....yessss!!!!

Happy New Year!! .... and a room with a view!

Wow.....what a spot to see in the new year. Vue Restaurant on the top floor of the Mercure building in central Auckland really knows how to put on a great night for their guests. Our view from stage was absolutely stunning and guests (and ourselves!) enjoyed a wonderful seven course degustation menu that was just beautiful. It was a real treat for us to share this and a fun filled night of dancing and singing with people from all over the world. The view of the fireworks off the Sky Tower was amazing. We highly recommend popping up to Vue sometime and enjoying a bite to eat or even just head to the bar, grab a cold drink and sit back and enjoy the view.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Hawkes Bay Sunshine

We don't have many bottles left from the box of amazing wines that Crab Farm Winery kindly gifted us!! We seriously recommend you stop in here anytime you're in Hawkes Bay. The food is delicious along with some seriously good wines amidst a relaxed atmosphere in lovely Bay View just 10 minutes out from Napier.

We were flattered with the amazing response from everyone here and blown away with the friendly and super efficient staff. What a great place to spend our Sunday afternoon in the Bay after a late corporate night. Rumor has it you might be able to find us back here through the summer as part of their Saturday night summer sessions......watch this space!!

Home again

Well it's been a truly amazing experience for us playing in the UK. Everywhere we visited we encountered amazing sights and history but the most memorable part of the whole experience has been the incredible people we met along the way. Thanks to Jake for setting up the shows and hosting us, Melainee for your hospitality and patience, Pear Ash Farm for sharing your home and life with us and a huge thank you to all those that supported the shows. Maybe see you again next year !!??

Mulled wine and winter chills

Well it's been a surprisingly busy winter for us.

There has been a few mornings at Matakana markets when it's been a little difficult to  get our fingers moving in the icy air. The help of lovely stall holders with their deliveries of warm food and hot coffee has been much appreciated!  We were warmed up after one these mornings with some delicious warm mulled wine at the Leigh Bowling Club for their mid winter Christmas function. Great night playing for these lovely folks.

We were invited back to one of the cutest community halls in New Zealand to celebrate a 40th. The hall looked amazing complete with Leigh sawmill beer on tap. What great hosts!

Wine and Sunshine

If there was an award for the friendliest audience we think it would have been won this day at Ransom Winery. Lovely winter sun was shining for the end of harvest celebration and everyone was definitely into enjoying some live music.

Thank you to Ransom winery for being good sports and giving away some free bottles of wine to the tables that sang the loudest! We highly recommend getting along to this winery and trying one their platters along with a glass of wine. Thanks also to…

Thanks also to Girl Friday for their wonderfully sweet vocals and amazing song arrangements.

Our biggest shout out  has to be to our wonderful audience on this day for really getting into the music with us and making it such a fun show.
